20 Questions

Category: Game Parlor

Post 1 by Diane (Missing a Friend!) on Tuesday, 20-Nov-2007 17:01:20

Okay, I will start by giving a clue about something I am thinking of. Collectively, you and other zoners have 20 questions to ask to try to guess what it is. Questions must have either yes or no as the answer. Making a guess of what the thing is, also counts as a question.
It is best to at first ask questions that will help narrow the item into certain categories while eliminating it from others. For example, if someone says they are thinking of a book, early good questions might be, "Is it a nonfiction book?" "Is it a children's book?" "Was it written by a man?" etc. As more and more traits about the book are identified, then more specific guesses can be made.
If someone guesses correctly, then they get to start the next 20 questions. If no one guesses correctly, then I'll reveal the secret thing and start another. As you post, number your question, so we can keep up with the sequence of where we are in the 20 questions. So here goes...

I'm thinking of an animal.

Post 305 by Diane (Missing a Friend!) on Friday, 11-Jan-2008 18:45:19

Post 310 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Sunday, 13-Jan-2008 21:35:31

Hmmm. I really don't know. Watch, this is going to be so obvious when we find out.

Post 311 by Diane (Missing a Friend!) on Monday, 14-Jan-2008 11:57:46

blank grill

Post 312 by Diane (Missing a Friend!) on Monday, 14-Jan-2008 12:00:55

And what's with my typing? No, I haven't heard of that either. Surely my restuaurant is a chain. Surely you have colored ont eh newsprint on the tables.

should be:
my restaurant is a chain. Surely you have colored on the newsprint on the tables.

Post 313 by Diane (Missing a Friend!) on Monday, 14-Jan-2008 12:22:39

To recap: Here are all the posts for this one minus the user names and dates and all:
I am thinking of a restaurant

1. is it a seafood restaurant?

No

2. is it fastfood?

No, not fast food

3. Is it a popular chain restaurant?
Yes

4. Is it fancy?
5. Is it a 5star place?
No, not particularly fancy, definitely not 5 star

6? Do they sell a specific kind of food?
Yes, they sell a particular kind of food.

7? Hmmm, am not sure if this was asked, but do they sell sea food?
Question 1, was do they sell seafood and the answer was no. Now they may have some seafood on their menu, but they would not be considered a seafood restaurant.

8. Hmmm is it a chinese place?
not Chinese

9. Do they serve brekfeast?
No breakfast

10. Mexican?
No
11. Italian
Yes

11. Olive Garden?
No

12. carrabba's?
No

13. Do they deliver?
Take out yes, delivery no

14. Geovani's?
No

15. Florencia's? not quite sure how to spell it
No

16. Do they serve pizza?Y
Yes, they have pizza on their menu, but they are not necessarily known as a pizza place

17. Pizza Express? I think that sells other things as well.
No

18. Spaghetti Factory?
No

19. Ducini's?
No

20. Paesanos?
No

Now your hints are that you can color on the newsprint on the tables and that the name is something grill. Because the "is it fancy" and "is it 5 star" were kind of the same and because the seafood question was asked twice, we will allow 2 more questions. I'm sure it is a chain.
